Paulsdale, a National Historic Landmark in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey since 1992, was the birthplace and family home of women’s rights activist Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977). Built c. 1800, the house today is open to the public to interpret the story of Paul’s efforts for women’s legal equality. It also serves as the headquarters of the Alice Paul Institute, a non-profit that educates the public about the long quest for legal equality in America and trains a new generation of young women to continue Paul’s work into the future.
