Louisiana’s Old State Capitol Hosted Marker Dedication

By August 16, 2021 No Comments
On Tuesday, June 29 Louisiana’s Old State Capitol unveiled the first Votes for Women marker in Louisiana as part of the Votes for Women Trail. It was in this statehouse on the same date in 1920 that women lobbied the legislature for the right to vote. The marker is located near the River Road entrance. To learn more about women’s suffrage in Louisiana, check out Louisiana’s Old State Capitol year long exhibit, Louisiana’s Lionhearted Ladies: Championing the Right to Vote.
