The NVWT Pomeroy marker dedication held on September 14 began with a curation of suffrage speech excerpts by honoree Emily Pierson, performed by the Cromwell Historical Society. An overview of National Votes for Women Trail was given by Joanie DiMartino, CT State Coordinator for NVWT followed by Kelley Marino, Ph.D., Suffrage Historian, sharing a brief biographical sketch of Emily Pierson’s life and works. Connecticut Secretary of State Denise Merrill attended the event and also provided remarks.
